College Scholarships
Twenty scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded to eligible high school seniors through the Illinois Electric Cooperative (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program.
The electric cooperatives of Illinois are proud to offer scholarships to deserving students in our co-op family. Whether you’re a high school senior planning to attend college or interested in a career as a lineworker, there’s a scholarship opportunity for you. Applications are now open for the 2027 Illinois Electric Cooperatives Memorial Scholarships.
Here is a brief rundown of the scholarships available:
+Twelve scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors whose parent(s) are members of an Illinois electric cooperative.
+ Six scholarships are dedicated to students enrolling full-time at a two-year Illinois community college, whose parent(s) are electric cooperative members.
+The Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student whose parent is an electric cooperative employee or director who resides in Illinois.
+ The LaVern and Nola McEntire Memorial Lineworker’s Scholarship supports students pursuing a career in linework through enrollment in the lineworker program at Lincoln Land Community College. Eligible applicants include children of cooperative members, relatives of employees or directors, and individuals who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces or National Guard.

Lineworker’s Scholarship
One annual scholarship of $3,000 will be awarded to help pay for costs of attending the lineworker’s school, which is conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives (AIEC) in conjunction with Lincoln Land College in Springfield. The LaVern and Nola McEntire Memorial Scholarship is available to children of cooperative members, relatives of employees or directors, and individuals who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces or National Guard.
