Payment Options

Pay Now is one of two options that you can choose to make an online payment on your electric bill! You will need your RECC account number to make a payment, with either a credit card, debit card or electronic transfer from a bank account (“check by phone payment”). If you make infrequent online electric payments, this is a simple option to use.

If you plan to regularly make online payments with Rural Electric, you might choose our SmartHub site for easy access and more options on your payments and notifications. You need your account number to sign up initially, but you’ll enter an e-mail address and personal security code for future visits to the site.

You can also choose to keep a credit card, debit card or checking account number “on file” in SmartHub, so that you don’t have to re-enter it each month. It’s stored securely for your protection.

No need to write a check every month when you sign up for automatic payment through your bank or credit union! You’ll still receive a statement showing your monthly usage, charges, and the amount deducted from your checking account. You’ll never have to worry about missing the due date.

Use your phone to check your account balance or make a payment at any time of the day or night. Just dial (217) 438-6197, choose Option 1, and enter your account number.

Make you bill paying easier with level monthly payments. We average your past months’ usage to determine the budget payment amount and balance out your account every October. The best time to sign up for Budget Billing is in September.

Payments can be made with a Visa or MasterCard online or through RECC’s automated phone system.  Auto-pay is also available with credit/debit cards.

Pay for the electricity you need, as you need it! With Prepaid Electric Service, you won’t get one big bill at the end of the month, and you won’t be surprised by monthly energy use.
