Member Owned Generation Systems

Small renewable-energy systems such as wind turbines and solar photovoltaic have become more affordable, and we have several renewable systems operating on our lines. While initial cost is still fairly high, federal tax credits and other incentives can reduce the upfront investment for consumers.

RECC has Interconnection and Net Metering Policies in place to assure safe operation of member-owned generation systems and effective use of the electricity they produce. Any installations must be pre-approved by the cooperative under the written policies, and a safety inspection will be performed before the system can connected to the electric grid.
