Peak Switch Program

For members with central air conditioning and/or an electric water heater, a Peak Switch can be installed to reduce their electric bills. The Peak Switch enables the cooperative to cycle an air conditioner's operation on some summer days (15 minutes on / 15 minutes off), or turn off electric water heater elements during an afternoon peak period. For air conditioners on a Peak Switch, a $25 credit is given on the member's electric bill for the summer months of June, July and August. This is a total savings of $75 a year on air conditioning!

For electric water heaters, a monthly credit of $3.50 is given on the electric bill, for an annual savings of $42.
