Certified Comfort Home

The Certified Comfort Home program was developed by the Illinois Electric cooperatives to give our members the guidelines they need to assure that their new homes are truly energy efficient. Recommended practices are described in our booklet, A Guide to Energy Efficient Construction Standards. It discusses in layman's terms some of the methods and techniques of building energy efficient homes. Some areas included are framing, insulation, vapor barriers, heating and cooling systems, water heating and other details.

Certified Comfort HomeRECC will, at your request, perform a series of inspections during your home's construction process to rate the energy efficiency features according to the guidelines in the Construction Standards booklet. Just ASK US FOR THIS FREE BOOKLET, and more information on our construction rating program!
